Annexin A4 antibody is a calcium/phospholipid-binding protein that promotes membrane fusion and is involved in exocytosis. Human ANXA4 has 92% aa sequence identity with Mouse and Rat ANXA4. The protein is homologous to mouse placental anticoagulant protein III, lipocortin IV, endonexin I, and carbohydrate-binding protein P33/P41 (CBP). ANXA4 binds to the phosphatidylcholine receptor of human blood platelets and blocks the phospholipid-dependent activation of the clotting cascade and cell death. It plays a role in the apoptosis of cancer cells and is an important factor for regulating tumor progression.
